on-board camera please which one, my head hurts

Hello oh wise ones. I'm looking to buy an on-board camera for the bike. to record my next jolly in 2014. Had a look on EBay lots to choose from n that's the problem! which one do I opt for? your recommendations would be gratefully received... Just to make it a little more tricky a maximum budget of £80.

I think Aldi were doing a camera a few weeks back that supposedly looked like one of the branded cameras for about £80

I will second that, very versatile, fantastic resolution, quality piece of kit. "Get out there"

I think every road going vehicle should be fitted with a camera by Law.

mate changed up from old hero 2 to the new garmin one, 16mp of something. says the software for it if really easy too.

Many thanks for your thoughts, I've still not decided, I'm trying to get some more funds available for the purchase soooo, we will see. Must admit I'm really really impressed with the Go pro Hero 3 have a look on you tube they have some amazing vids and I keep spotting them on tv.

One of my German colleagues just bought a go-pro clone called the SJ4000. Amazon sell them for £75! Google "SJ4000" for more info. He's going to do a side by side comparison with is son's go-pro 2, and I'll let you know how he gets on. The camera comes with a load of mounts, all of which are compatible with the go-pro camera kit too. Don't forget you'll need a fast class 10 memory card if you want to record HD video...

I'm now saving for one of these after friend of friend had one on a recent outing, very compact & comes with plenty mounting options plus waterproof case.

Quick clip of the Veho Muvi, only set a 'half' quality, sound quality my fault as have it mounted too near the edge of the screen & catches the turbulence.
Happy so far, recommended for half/third price of the GoPro.

It has it's plus points, 40miles each way, mostly country roads, great when the Sun is up early, but a pain in winter, I'm up and out before the gritters or ploughs!!

GoPro,wins i think for quality,features and bounce ability!
Movie taken with first GoPro1 sold to get GP2, also have GP3 which has advantage of taking stills with movie mode. Think 2 has superior movie and plenty about 2nd hand.

Im currently using a go pro copy! Its called the SJCAM 4000, if you have a look on-line you'll see loads of positive reviews.

Go pro quality for a quarter of the price! Ideal

Been using a Drift for years now, you can pick up a second hand one on eBay for about £90. Even the 720p has good resolution. If you use the helmet mounts the camera doesn't stick out like the GoPro, very streamlined and stable even at speed.
