How do I "fix" this?

Got a technical query? Found another 0.02bhp? Ask/tell the world.

Got it fixed!

Took maybe a half hour total.

The brackets were easy. The shift and brake linkage extenders are simply threaded rods, male on one end and female on the other. Back off the lock nuts and unscrew. Reattach original parts. Oh, unclip ball and socket to facilitate the unscrewing.

Thanks to all for advice, wouldn't have gone after it without your input.

So, what are your plans for the bits you took off?
If I could be so bold as to ask for first refusal.......
