guys
following test ride and input from you lot - i bought a 2004 BCR.
love it.
really pleased with it.
couple of questions so far...
a. is the tool kit supposed to contain the cranked wheel nut wrench?
mine doesn't.
b. are the setting for 'standard' suspension (ie damping/preload) - the
same for the BCR as for the standard bike? ie as detailed in the owners
manual...?
there'll be more soon i'm sure....sorry
thanks

Tim - to answer your questions:
a. No - bikes with no centrestand don't come with a wheel wrench. Apparently BMW don't supply them as it's dangerous to remove the rear wheel without a centrestand.
b. The suspension settings are the same on all bikes - the shocks are all identical except the BCR & Sport ones being longer (and have different colour springs).

Enjoy the bike!!

BMW in there wisdom decree no centre stand then no wheel wrench. Must save them thousands on every bike!!
Regards Peter.
it actually saves the manufacturer MILLIONS of $$$ in litigation from the few Numpties acroos the pond (and increasingly here) who will sue just coz they are dimwitts and cannot see the consequences of any action they take.
