Belton House

Post by Gromit »

We're fortunate enough to live about 15 mins' drive away from Belton so are regular visitors. The kids love the place (it's got a superb adventure playground in the woods) and for us it's just a beautiful place to wander around at any time of the year. It's looking particularly stunning at the moment with the Autumnal colours. The kids stopped at home today so I took the opportunity to pop over to BH at opening time - before the crowds arrived - to take some photos.

All taken on Fuji with various lumps of glass stuck to the front.

Was the first pic the light or one of the various bits of glass on the front? Whatever it was, looks very moody - class

Cheers Dave/Mitch. :)

First pic was one of those very brief periods of strong sunlight you get on an Autumn morning - the sun was quite low in the sky and every so often there was a concentrated shaft of it coming through small gaps in the cloud. All I've done in the photo is under-expose by approx 1/3 stop (in Lightroom) to prevent the house burning out and that's pretty much it.

Was a lovely day to be out and about with a camera. :)

All this is inspiring me to go out and take more pics - which means my old Canon EOS400 (I think) and get the Durst out. Something else that I haven't got time to do!!!

the first pic with the light as it is , is stunning , you should go and sell the rights to them , it deserves to be on the cover of a book or pamphlet or the likes.
its not a boxer , its a 180 degree v-twin
