Fox Hunts...

Post by slparry »

Fecking twats .... 'scuse my French.

My cousin, has always been a real soft touch were animals are concerned. Rescuing chickens from the intensive egg laying coups, retired greyhounds, rabbits, ducks, goats, horses ... .

She lives in a very peaceful rural spot with her menangerie that are spoilt rotten.

Today that peace ended when the sir watkin williams wynn hunts dog pack piled onto her property and ripped one of her pet ducks to shreds in front of her.

What I feel at present goes beyond anger. I'm hoping she's going to report them etc.

Let's be honest if this bunch are unable to control their dogs what would have happened if that had have been a toddler that took the packs attention?

Agree Steve. It's not on at all.

Some wont agree, but hunting for fun (not food) isn't on anyway in my book. Plus I don't see how fox hunting with a pack of dogs is even sporting, like fishing with dynamite!

That sounds distressing Steve, perhaps a nice letter to the Hunt to give them the opportunity to try and make amends to your cousin?

Kinda hard to make amends for the loss of a pet and the distress of seeing it torn apart in front of her.

Had it happened to one of my pets there would have also have been several dead dogs and maybe horses and riders too at the business end of my Sabatiers. However, she'd never do that as she's such a gentle soul.

Reg.
I'm most definately not a townie Reg, and I've always been 200% against fox hunting as a method of pest control. It always pisses me off that the hunt supporters attempt to imply that it's a rural v town issue and that all countryside residents are hunt supporters. They're not. Badger baiting, hare coursing, cock fighting etc are all illegal because they were "working class" activities. Fox hunting remained because it was an upper class pastime. It's repulsive to get pleasure from the suffering of a fellow creature.

Boxered's been to my place and as he'd agree I'm sure it's as country as can be, just behind me is an area know locally as "the gorse" where a number of foxes live and it's a joy to see the cubs playing in the early mornings. There's also a sheep farm immediately across the road and he doesn't have any real issues with the foxes, seems to have more issues with molehills.

Fox hunting is not about pest control, it's about groups of over priviledged thugs proving to the rest of us minions that they're above the law.

As most foxes are now apparently in towns surely the hunts should direct their revolting hedonism to the city streets.

Absolutely hate them, local hooligans were down our way last week. They think they can tear all over the countryside with no regard for anyone or anything. Pack of savages and I refer to the humans as opposed to the hounds.

Absolutely!

They get interviewed on TV, and come out with shite like:

"Lots of businesses and livelihoods depend on the traditional fox-hunting"

Since the dead fox has no intrinsic value which pays for all those livelihoods - they could just as easily hunt one of their own dogs, with a scent bag tied to it.

"Townies don't understand the country" GGGrrrrrr!

totally anti hunt - maybe we could do it in reverse? send the hunters out with a bunch of football hooligans (other hooligans are available) and if they get caught the hooligans get to kick seven shades out of them - if they don't get caught they get to run another day

Yes Steve, very nice place you have there, and right on the doorstep of some of the uk's best biking roads too!

I have never liked the idea of hunting, but being a "townie" I don't profess to know a lot about it, I just instinctively dislike the idea, this was only reinforced when we were unfortunate enough to be in the bar at a pub in Llanarmon when some of the huntsmen and women were enjoying their pimms after their new year hunt. I have never met such a bunch of obnoxious bastards in all my life! ( and I have been on many boxertrix weekends  )
