Asbestos underwear donned! Tyres.
OK.
I use my R11S for commuting (450miles/week). So I am looking for reasonable life.
What works well on the R11 as standard.
I know this is somewhat of a vexed question..

I've tried the following on mine;
Dunlop Roadsmart
Michelin Pilot Road 2
Metzeler roadtec Z8
The metzelers are my favourite so far. No idea about longevity but they are by far the best handling tyres I've used. I've never got right to the edge of a tyre on this bike until I got the metzelers fitted. The other 2 were good and lasted around 4-5k. I think the metzelers will last the same or more. I've got 2k on them so far and they look fine.
They also give much better wet grip.

There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

This photo shows a Road Pilot 2 after about 6500 miles on the back of my ST (the one that got written off hence the very narrow gap between exhaust and tyre) Still about 2k left in the tread depth (Note the Chicken strips at least 4 mm wide).

Hi,
I also use my 1100s for travel to work (600 miles/week). I've been using mich PR2 for last 3 years (BT20/21 before that). I can get 10K out of them, still legal but a 'bit' squared off. (36psi front, 42psi rear).
Ride through the winter months, they feel very safe in wet & cold.

I'm currently running Avon Storm 3D X-M AV66 on the rear and have a front to go on soon.
Tried all the above with similar mileage, between 5 & 9k generally.
The Storm has 9mm of tread to start with I've done 3000 miles and one day on track and it's worn 2mm from the center, looks promising.
Seem fine handling wise, but then I've never really found a bad handling tyre for normal street use TBH.
