Round Black Ones
Being a thrifty guy I have just fitted another of the maxxis brand tyres to my griso ( the cheap ones that all biker tyre aficionados avoid) If it is as good as the super sport fitted to my Duc I am well pleased. Fantastic value for money tyres. Ask my front wheel and forks to tell the difference between Pirreli and Maxxis. Cos I can not. albeit external to my bank account.
Fiat Panda.
Fiat Scudo (with speedblock, pipe carrier, reversing sensors, reversing camera, tow bar, some new rust and Fake Plumber logo)
started out with nothing, still have most of it left.

If you change your own tyres, then the case for the Maxxis is perhaps stronger, but if they wear quicker than the more up-market dual-compound types - then a trip to the tyre-fitters (fit, balance, disposal etc) might have to be factored in - to the overall cost/10,000 miles?
As long as you don't run them - this long...............

Re: Round Black Ones
Been using them for years, all of the range is great, with no premature wear issues. If you're really aggressive on the bike you may notice a difference but as far as i can tell they're just as good as Metzeler / Pirelli etc.
OE Metz rear in my K1600 lasted 4000 miles, Maxxis Diamond lasts 6000.
Had their sports tyres on my Duc 996 and never had a slide.
Highly recommended.
