Trackdays
Given my "history" with the "other side" (well their forum admin) I'm not sure I should be helping in any way but being the bigger person ...... figured it may be of interest here.

Re: Trackdays
Splarry, the guy who organise this for the BMW club is not a knob. He is on this forum (bins) and deserves the support to make these events a success.

I never said he was
Yes I met him the other day, when he dropped off the flyers, really nice guy .... he was dismayed when I related the tale of my dealings with their forum guy.
In part the reason I've promoted the flyers he left is because he was a nice fella

Re: Trackdays
signed up for the Snetterton do a while back, this will be my third.
These are really well run, enjoyable track `experiences` far removed from the testosterone fuelled bullshit you sometimes get at other events I`ve done.
Thoroughly recommendable, a great way to get to know your bike better, I`ll be on a Tiger 800 this year so will be hoping to not get in the way too much!..
cheers

Re: Trackdays
Totally different. Flat, fast, wider and longer. For a novice Snetterton is really good, for the experienced faster rider the track has some technical bits that needs to get it right to string together a good set of corners. You learn it pretty quick and a few corners demand commitment when tying it on or it is on the grass. Compare that to Cadwell where it is full on all the time with no rest.

I went to a meeting of the BMW club quite recently.
Nice enough bunch of people, but very much the stereotypical pipe and slippers bmw riders.
No thanks

This is not a BMW club meeting. More leather and sliders than pipe and slippers.

Fiat Panda.
Fiat Scudo (with speedblock, pipe carrier, reversing sensors, reversing camera, tow bar, some new rust and Fake Plumber logo)
started out with nothing, still have most of it left.

Re: Trackdays
If only there was one down south.
There used to be a Goodwood one and it was well run and good fun. Still recall one of the bearded, old black leathers and open face lid R1100S riders going round the outside of a one piece Power Ranger on an R6 at St. Mary

Re: Trackdays
Thanks for starting this thread SLP, I'd better inform you all that the Cadwell day is nearly full, those in the 'know' will have worked out it's about £30 dearer than a commercial day, we promise lower numbers on track and have to charge more to cover costs.
We have a track walk the evening before, I arrange for the overnighters to eat together in Louth, it's more than just a track day, for experienced road riders it's a 'road bike only day with no tyre warmers and wets, for the beginners it's a bargain, free instruction all day if required, the cautious riders are not allowed to ride on their own until they show competence.
Forms from robertbensley@btinternet.com as stated on the flyer, thanks R B

Re: Trackdays
I suppose any nationwide "trackdays.co.uk" vouchers won't be possible to use?
Regarding clothing, what are the restrictions on gloves, boots and helmets?
