Will there be a Flash Tours 2017

Postby BigRob » Fri Oct 14, 2016 10:14 am

I really need another trip to see Tony "Flash" Gurr. I would love to take the R 1200 S. Will someone be organising an event this year?

Hi Rob,

I'm game again, if we can rustle up a small group. I've been having a chat with a few other folks on the board and am erring towards a May/June slot.

Open call to the trixtering community: Would anyone be interested in doing this? The deal is 5 nights at Chateau Flash, bed breakfast, evening meal, and Tony's extensive beer and wine cellar for your pleasure, with 4 full days of ride outs for the trifling sum of £530 per person. It really is like a Boxertrix weekend, but on steroids, with great company, fine empty roads, good weather and fantastic food.

More details on Tony's web site here

Form an orderly queue and register your interest on this thread.

Cheers,

Paul

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Sort a date Paul and may be able to do it - it all depends on shift patterns and how much leave I would need

Okidoki, well the dates from the list of currently available I would suggest are June 22-26. How does that suit everyone? There are currently 13 slots available for that weekend, and we need at least 6 people to participate to make it viable for Tony to run the weekend.

If everyone is happy with this date, I'll ask Tony to put a reservation on all places for that weekend for Boxertrix for one month, so that we have a chance to fill all 13 slots ourselves. After that, any unsold spaces would go back on general availability for the rest of the world.

Is anyone else vaguely interested in this? If you need any further persuasion, here's a thread with pictures from the 2015 Boxertrix trip to Chateau Flash and here's a brief video of last year's trip, which I made for Flash to promote the weekends

If any of you are put off by the prospect of driving on the wrong side of the road and coping with French people who don't understand your English dialect, I'm happy to travel down and back with a group from here and sort out the routes and resolve any of the foreign lingo issues. The French are, by and large, a lovely bunch of folks who actually like motorcyclists, so riding over there is a real pleasure.

So, please register your interest on this thread and let's get planning for 2017.

Cheers,

Paul

22 - 26 June is fine for us.

Your making this too easy, really grateful for this as it will be our 1st trip overseas on the bikes, I'm guessing Whales doesn't count as abroad!

Unfortunately not - working a rolling week means its always hit and miss for me. Might be able to do the Welsh weekend with minimal annual leave

Looking good so far. We have confirmed participation from:

Dave & Gin
Big Rob
Paul
Paul's Triumph Street Twin pal, Dave

Waivering we have:

PBBoxer
Dog Tyred

Does anyone else want to join in either list? We can squeeze up to 13 people in to the weekend.

Cheers,

Paul

Stick me on the waivering list Paul. Just waiting for a shooting calendar to be finalised before I can commit.

Good folks of Boxertrix,

This is a final call for any more takers for the Chateau Flash run in late June. 4 places are still up for grabs. Give me a shout if you are interested.

Cheers,

Paul
