Would've loved to have come out for a bimble John but got family stuff to do today. Beautiful day too.

Only put 35 miles on the VFR since getting it - shameful.

John - did you guys manage to get out today in the end? I did a last-minute flit up to the Woods around 4pm, still loads of folk around, and good to get the VFR out on a reasonably decent run at last.

I'm sooooo rusty riding-wise though, it's shameful.

Nice one, John hope you both had a good time. True about the traffic down our way too, the A15 back from Waddington to our place was nose-to-tail virtually although in typical Lincs style the back roads up round Wragby/Barnby/Mkt Rasen were deserted.

Yes, enjoyed the bike thanks - apart from the issues mentioned elsewhere. It goes pretty well when you cane it and sounds absolutely fantastic above 8000rpm. Still something magical about a Honda RC motor at full chat. For the first time in years I'm considering a louder pipe 8) .

The main problem at the moment though is me, I'm so out of practice on the twisty stuff. Still, hopefully will be able to get out more now the Mrs is home from her 4 month deployment.

Very hot here on Lake Como so left the MX5 in the hotel garage to recover from its trip up & down the Stelvio Pass.Used the ferries to go fom village to village tasting beers, wines & pizza. Two more days here then back home via the St Gothard,Furka & Grimsell passes ,a night on Lake Lucern and one in Luxembourg. The M25 & M1 are going to be great fun.NOT.

I'll just add that Lake Como is one of the nicest places I've ever been to, and the local traffic is 'fun' too if you take the road down the west side through Menaggio etc (which is where we've stayed twice).

Reg - did you visit the Guzzi museum at Mandello?

The Furka/Grimsel passes are great on a bike. Summer 2001 on my first 11S:

Glad to see you are both having a great time, very envious, hoping to do a trip like that in our roadster sometime, we have also done the ferry around Como and Garda sampling wine/coffee/pasta and gelatto at alternate stops it makes for a superb day especially if you can cool off in the lake as well.
