A major event designed to boost road safety standards in Northamptonshire will be held at Silverstone later this month.
Experts from Northamptonshire Police, the fire service and the county’s highways department have teamed up to organise Get Road Smart@Silverstone, a free event designed to increase residents’ road safety awareness and build on the work already carried out to make the county’s roads among the safest in Britain.
Inspector Jen Helm from Northamptonshire Police said: “This special one day event is an opportunity for the whole family to explore and learn more about road safety in a really unique and entertaining environment.
"We hope these out-of-the-ordinary activities and experiences, which have been designed to increase road safety awareness, will help members of the public become part of our county's commitment to making Northamptonshire's roads the safest in the country."
The event will be held at the Silverstone circuit in south Northamptonshire on Sunday, May 18 from 10.30am until 4pm.
Entry to the track, which is the home of the British Grand Prix, will be free to everyone.
