Re: Hawes- - July.
Looks like a great weekend was had!
I was gutted to have to cancel this last Wednesday after faceplanting whilst out cycling.
The plastic surgeon sewed my lip back on & the dentist will fix my broken teeth.
Unfortunately it’s my daughter’s birthday on the Moffat weekend but I Will see you all next year.
Glad to hear Chris is ok.
All the Best

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Hi All
Just got home thanks to Philippa, she was not too grumpy (so far) which considering it's her birthday is amazing. It was great to catch up with everybody again after such a long COVID break.
Huge thanks to everybody for all your kindness and help, not least for dragging 250kg of Muttley off my now black and blue swollen foot. York Hospital A&E were brilliant, no tutting about motorbikes being dangerous either. I don't feel too bad about bothering the NHS, because this is only the 2nd time in 48 years motorcycling I've been to A&E. In 1975, I think, I was knocked off my Triumph Daytona 500, damaging the same left foot.

What actually happened Alastair? Was it a road bike or mountain bike you were on?
Wishing you a speedy recovery, and as small a bill as possible from the dentist.

Thanks Ian
I was on my gravel bike on the canal towpath. I went too fast into a cobbled overflow & saw too late that it was wet. My front wheel slid & got jammed in between the cobbles & I went over the handlebars, forgetting to let go & hit the cobbles a mighty whack with my mouth….
To add insult to injury, the sidewall of my tyre got ripped so I had to fix that before cycling home & getting to A&E
