Scotland ride outs

Postby Steve1966 » Fri Mar 30, 2018 10:43 am

Hey,

Any folks out there doing regular days out in the central belt of Scotland or north over the bridge? I’m based just outside Edinburgh and looking to join like-minded folks for days out in our amazing Scottish countryside!
The weather is almost on the turn, no really it is!, and itching to get out. :bounce:

Cheers

Hi Steve

I'm in Fife so that fits your North of the bridge requirement :) . I've stopped work so theoretically have plenty of time to go for rides but it doesn't seem to quite work out that way.
Were you thinking of going to the rearranged bike show at Ingleston this weekend? That could be an opportunity to meet up.

Cheers

Hi Steve, hopefully we can share a few miles shortly when I return home on a permanent basis, not sure I share your enthusiasm just yet until the craters and pot holes are filled!

Wales is looming however :) We can meet up for the journey down?

Cheers Ian - I may have been a little hasty on the weather expectations! Yes, planning to go to the bike show on Saturday - maybe see you there?

Cheers Chris - look forward to it. Re: potholes etc., Edinburgh and the 'burbs are outrageous - never seen anything like it. I hear it's pretty much the whole country! Hopefully we can find some smooth country roads when the sun decides to make an appearance!

You could be right, just been ferrying visitors through a snowy Fife :( but forecast suggest weekend will be better.
Will be down to the show on Saturday unless something comes up. I'll pm you my number and we can arrange something.

Hi Chris, what time were you thinking of setting off for Wales?
If it wasn't crack of dawn could get down to you if you're happy with some company on the way down.

Guys

I am based near Auchterarder, and currently working 28/28 in Kazakhstan. I don't see much of an improvement in the weather for a few days, early next week (mid week days) may be interesting. Then I'll be looking to go out late May - early June.

Plan was to set off from Jed between 12 and 1 pm cos I have a replacement windscreen booked in on Friday morning. If you are flexible and could do the A7 to M6 we could meet up at Hawick (Hoik) around lunch? Morrisons caff? Chance to get dry and warm for you! be nice for company. Depending on weather and timing we could make route more interesting avoiding as much of M6 as possible. Chris

Thanks Chris

A7 to M6 is my usual route to Wales so that would work out well. We can confirm the details a little nearer the time.

Cheers
