Back end of May planning to meet in Normandy with a mate from Holland, then make our way down to Barcelona for the ferry to Majorca. Gonna catch up with another mate for a few days before returning. Summit we've been threatening to do for years.
We figure on spending 3 days riding each way and will use 'D' roads as much as poss. Would appreciate any wisdom on fun and/or picturesque roads to use. We'll be meeting near Caen and would like to head south via Melle near Poitiers in order to pop in and say hello to Flash. The only other 'must do' bits are the Parc Nationale de Cevennes, taking in the Millau bridge, probably on the way back up.
Thanks.
Mike

If you have the time - head down through the Alsace, skirt Geneva to Thonon Les Bains or Bourge St Maurice - and head down the Route de Grande Alpes as far as Barcelonnette (and continue down Col de La Bonnette or Alos - then head west from Castellanne/Digne les Bain area - through the Gorge de Verdon, and keep heading west through the Ardeche, Tarn region to the pyrenees.
Could be a 5 day jaunt, though - but worth it.

Well, that came around quickly - on the ferry to Caen now. No Majorca unfortunately, on account of mine host working all 4 days of our planned visit [boo!]. So we're gonna do the Pyrenees and Alps and nice bits in between [ray!]. Meeting my Dutch mate for brekkie in Normandy before striking south. Fingers crossed for good weather...
