On the other side of the coin, 2012 August bank holiday weekend a huge weather front hit the uk with tons of rain and strong winds .... challenging but still awesomely beautiful up there

If anyone fancys my proposal for Scottish Weekend 2014, I put the 20th/21st June 2014 for the sake of getting some figures and the Erskine have come back with an excellent offer of £39 pppn for dinner bed and breakfast

I only chucked the dates at them as a number to get some idea, later next year are the commonwealth games but earlier I don't think is a prob

I'm interested in joining for you guys for my first boxer meet in Scotland unless there is the chance of doing a meet earlier in the year. I always wanted to go to Applecross via the pass and loop the top of Scotland. Would it be too much for a weekend to include part of the Hebrides?

It'd be a push bear in mind Applecross is over 200 miles from Glasgow with say John o Groats via the coast another 240 miles from Applecross, Scotland's a big place .... A couple of us go up to the Highlands for the August Bank holiday travelling up to Glasgow on the Friday, then riding often via Applecross in a loop back to Glasgow for Monday night and home Tuesday. Including the 260 or so miles each way to Glasgow from north Wales we do about 1300 miles.
