Before you strip it remove the slave cylinder just to confirm that it's not partially seized, this would be an easy fix if the clutch hasn't been slipping badly. While there, if there's oil or brake fluid visible in the orifice this could also be the cause of the problem and depending how bad may be salvageable without removing the gearbox . ( I'm a glass half full sort of person , especially when it's not my bike ...)

Cheers for that. Will do. It only slips if you give it some in the higher gears.

Hi ... changed the whole clutch assembly on mine.

It is not 'too' difficult but takes a lot of time as almost the whole bike has to be stripped down.
All that is left is the front forks and engine.

The clutch was worn out but also contaminated by a leaking clutch slave cylinder.
Changed the seals and drilled a hole underneath so that future clutch slave leakage would drip out down side of gearbox and be noticed.

Also changed the gearbox seals.
Only problem is that the gearbox output shaft seal that wasn't leaking now leaks. :?
Been through two seals now.
It has been documented here that the seal may be inserted too far (it is flush with casing) and may be covering a pressurized oil hole in the shaft.
Others have experienced this problem too.
Not ridden the bike for a number of years so really should take a look at fixing it.
I bought a good used gearbox just in case ...

Hope you have better luck with yours ...

Well. Finally got clutch out. Worn to rivets but pressure plate good. What a job. Worst bit was seized bolts & getting cat of.
Parts ordered. Easy bit now putting back together.

Hi. Im in sheffield, finally got it finished. Had a right job. Seized bolts. I had to cut exhaust up to remove. Mind i have also refurbed
repainted wheel, shock, swingarm & frame whilst they were of. Lot of bolts just sheared & had to be drilled out. Nightmare.
