R1100S Indicator Auto Cancel
I have had the bike 2 years now and I still find the auto cancel a PITA, often needing to have the indicators put back on to keep them on as long as is needed. My other machines do not have the facility so I am quite capable of switching them off when needed!
Is there a way to either:
- extend the time/distance that they stay on for?
- disable the system simply and reversibly

There is a plug in module that can be programmed by button presses but I don't remember the name of it. I toyed with getting one. Someone here will know the name of it I'm sure.

There's never going to be a programmed delay for the auto cancel that suits every situation, I think the compromise that BM have set is about right actually, if anything a bit too long I suppose because I'm often manually cancelling it.
I'd say either live with it as it is and just press the button again if you think it's going to cancel too soon, or disable it completely.

They self cancell after 15 flashes, i think its a bm safety thing so you dont carry on riding with them on after using them. i only found this out a few years back when it was raised before.

Rockster has the same system - as far as I can work out it's based on a certain time (maybe a number of flashes), AND a change in speed. If you don't change speed enough then they tend to stay on - so they won't cancel if you're stationary at a very long set of lights, and they won't cancel if you don't slow down for the turn.
(well - that's what 'seems' to happen with mine!)

Well after 8 years I now know my bike self cancelling work, I feel much so much better knowing that. I apologise to any body if they were following me to work this morning when I let them auto cancel every time I overtook another vehicle.

I think you need the whole digital clocks system - the R1150R takes it's speed from a mechanical drive on the front wheel (ABS or no). The Rockster takes it's speed reading from either the ABS sensor, or on non-ABS bikes (like mine), a castellated ring within the final drive box.

Elektronics Blinkrelais BMW/Flasher relay BMW
I have this www.whitelights.eu unit in my 2004 R1100S .
This flasher/turn signal relay DOES NOT cancel.
Another feature is that it was built to utilize LED bulbs so that you do not get the fast blinking from the stock OEM relay.
