Tyre enquiry.

Hello folks

I wonder if anyone can offer some guidance regarding tyre compatibility please?

I been using Michelin Pilot Road 4 GTs on my R1100S and I’m delighted with them. I’ve just replaced the front but now need a rear, however, this rear tyre is no longer available (I need a 170/60 ZR 17). The Michelin Road 6 has been suggested but I thought I’d ask and find out what others use, and also if anyone can tell me if this would be an appropriate tyre to use with the Pilot Road 4 GT on the front?

Road 4 have been superseded by the much better 5 and slightly better still- Road 6.

I don't think the GT incarnations of any of those - is correct for the weight of the 1100s though. They are designed for the larger/heavier tourers. sports/tourers.

You won't go wrong with Michelin Road 5 or 6, but I would highly recommend the Conti Road Attack 3 or 4. (for tyre pairs)

The road 4 front is quite a round profile from memory (but your old one might not be now)- but Michelin road 5 or 6 should come closest.
