Restore or Replace?

The valve covers on my R1200S are quite badly chipped and marked, especially around the leading edge. Ideally, I’d like to keep the originals and have them restored, although it looks like I could get a new pair for £185 off eBay. Has anyone on here had theirs restored?

Had mine powder coated black. Apparently not the easiest of jobs as the castings were porous in place but when done were spot on
