I tried three different screens on my R1100S (bars above the yoke)

Standard awful the wind tried to lifrt my helemt off of my head

MRA Vario and I put rubber washers under the top screws on teh adjuster to get a better airflow

the best one was an MRA with a movable flap - but still a lot of wind noise.

I use Ear plugs with Noise filters made by Pinlock which help.

But if you really want to cut wind noise buy an RT and put the screen up to full height as the screen rises on its electric motors the wind noise subsides appreciably. :D :D

I bought a quieter lid (Schuberth C3) and when I put the bars above the yoke I added an MRA screen.
Wind still hits my helmet (6ft tall) but it is acceptable noise-wise with moulded ear plugs in.

Yep. Better than std. Not been on motorway yet but seems ok @ high speed on A roads.

I have the taller BMW screen with bars above the yoke on BCR, much better than the standard screen (which was terrible), very comfortable & quiet. I'm trying various earplugs now & surprising how different they can be.

Is there a kit required to move the bars above the yoke?

Thanks

You may need longer brake lines, varies on different bikes, I needed to on my 2000 s sport model, if you do it’s easier to get single lines and do away with the link pipe over mudguard.

One additional piece of advice
Mike B wrote:one thing to remember!!!!!

There is a wire circlip around the top of the tubes that you need to remove before you try and push them down through the top yoke.

When you have loosened the clamp move the tube up a little so you can easily remove the circlip.

Tip - Only loosen one side at a time and you can even leave the wheel in. Done this mod three time once on an 1100s and twice on R1200ST's
