It was a bit frosty for biking this morning , so I grabbed my hiking boots and headed for the hills , although I didn't lug my slr and tripod with me ...
I did an anticlockwise lap of the lakes and boardwalk.
The first few k's are easy gravel path/tarmac
Maybe I should have brought my slr , couple of quick snaps and keep going
Pity , it would make a nice trail ride
Yes it really is cold today..
I was wondering if the creaking I could hear was my knees/hips ... realised it was the lapping ice at the edge of the lake
What a difference a year makes , the second photo was taken a year ago after prolonged heavy rain
Miner village , nearly under water last year too
Too busy gasping on the steep bit to take photos
The difficult bit is over
Slippery board walk or frozen bog , decisions , decisions
It's all down hill from here
Divert from the main boardwalk to a steep descent onto a handy forest trail..
Home and time to put the feet up
