An alternative subject for photos under water is Rust.
And it can be fun researching the rust. This is the Hispania, a Swedish owned steam ship, built in Belgium 1912. Which sank in 1954 in the Sound of Mull. Records show that the captain went down with it, but friends of ours found the remains of a young boy; which were eventualy identified and repatriated to Sweden.

Rust with Guns
I got hugely excited the first time I saw guns on a shipwreck, but they are exceptionally hard to photograph. Any way I persevered.
This is SMS Bayern which sank in Scapa Flow 1916. The wreck was taken away, but her main gun turrets remain stuck in the sea bed 30m down.
You can see the ball bearing race that the turret rotated on, and the electric motor which wound the turret round to take aim on the British.
Here is the recoil spring and open breach of the gun barrel which lies beneath the sea bed. This gun fired at the Battle of Jutland.
