Handy for anyone looking for cheap touring kit for the 12S, paid a fortune for the factory panniers and mountings

Thanks for the spot Humbug. I bought this. £65 posted seems reasonable.

I will see how easy it is to attach and use it only for my annual trip, as its pretty ugly. Rather not leave it on all the time.

Well purchased, hope it does what you need it to, you could, also re sell once you have used it if its not what you need.
I was looking for one before buying the full BMW pannier system as they don't turn up often

It has the separate small grab rail like mine. I usually leave it on all the time and just put the rack on when I need it.

It's not that big of a deal to remove it but given my home/garage circumstance I'd just lose the screws or something so I leave it on.

Thanks for that. It doesn't look too bad, but I think it helps your bike is black. It blends in a bit. I'll see how it looks.

I've fitted the rack. Not quite as discreet on my silver tail. I'll leave it for now, no doubting the practicality but it is ugly. At least you don't have to drill holes in the bodywork. It only takes 20 minutes to remove or fit so I may resort to fitting specifically for my occasional tours.

I didn't think my bike was ugly enough, so I fitted a top box to the Ventura rack. I almost bought the BMW luggage that came up recently but to be honest, I only need sonewehere to stow my gear when I park up. This will suffice and is quickly removable.

Yup, that ought to do it

Actually, to be fair, the metalwork looks ok. Quite well executed.
