Well, we made a decision a month ago to postpone our September sailing to Spain over to next year. It is definite we aint going so i do not give a monkeys about any hokey cokey with traffic light list countries. Instead we are booking mid week breaks during term times and plan to do this more often. Planning and preparing for a long break and getting back to speed when you arrive home is quite tedious. I think Lockdown lessons learnt will change the way we think about travel and holidays. Besides that we are only 1.5hrs away from the Gulf stream, sandy beaches, great locations which are only known to those in the inner circle.

I never liked airports or busy travel terminals anyway.

Amandas B n B business is flat out now, all Brits which is a first, so we were frantically checking bookings and school term times tonight so we can plan, book and look forward to mini breaks avoiding peak times.
The bike will be our choice of travel... dry roads permitting.

We will not be going to Blackpool to see Mucky Mavis.

Ha, so you've come round to the thinking that paying a fortune to an airline to go to the other side of the world for sandy beaches and risk getting skin cancer is not worth it.
I now have 3 mates who won't bother renewing their passport when they run out and that they want to travel and support businesses in the UK, because there are loads of places they haven't been which are just as beautiful and interesting as abroad.
You won't have to shout louder in English to make the foreigners understand either, (if you cant speak their language).
Less jetstream and oxzone layer pollution from Rolls Royce and Pratt & Whitney too. Win Win Win.

If the bins are full - they justify dumping their trash on the ground by the bins with: "We've done our bit, taking our shite to the bins - it's not our fault that they are full!" NO - pack your shite in your car and take it home!

Seen it in the Lakes, North Yorks, Highlands over the last couple of weeks.

Have to agree with Reg, out and about in the van at the moment in Cornwall, “campsite” prices are a min 20-25% dearer than pre COVID, for a field!! Loads of stopover places now with no overnight parking because of the volume of complaints last year about S**t & rubbish dumped everywhere, the sooner these people get on a plane back to Benidorm or Ibiza the better.
Scotland suffered badly with these issues last year, especially the west coast Nc 500 route that was highlighted in just about every outdoor magazine, many areas have made extra provision for visitors this year but still very busy and most campsites fully booked. I think a lot of Chris’s inner circle hidden spots may be be a bit less hidden this year.
As for foreign travel, we are still hoping we might get to Greece in October for a late Yacht charter and will certainly be off to Europe in the van if we are allowed, vaccines are proven to work, had both jabs but doesn’t seem to be any benefits of that so far. If long haul trips may be back on next year, why not travel, as we won’t have seen friends in OZ for 4 yrs by then I think we would go,

I think you are stretching it a wee bit Reg,, Can we decide on what four wheeled vehicles are acceptable? For me and witnessing what i saw in Southern Scotland last weekend we should encourage tax payer escorted passages (like the boats) to foreign shores for all the would be Romanies in their Motorhomes and Camper vans.
