who has moved on from the 1100s?
Who wants to tell everyone about the New Beemer, Mobility Scooter, Zimmer?
For starters, I reckon my 1200r lc exclusive is more suited to 80 pc of the GS riders who are midgets, can not wheel the gs in and out of the garage and need platform soles to get feet flat down and a step ladder to get off it .
My 1200 r is faster, sportier and looks like a motorcycle without the daft telelever that BMW persevere with( only on two models now) It does not have stupid meals on wheels panniers. My 1200r lc like the majority of g`s esses goes nowhere near off road (unless I have had a couple of pints of Long White Cloud on the run back to Jed from Cobbles at Kelso) It is a complete revelation to my much loved and abused Boxercup.
One thing that is in complete harmony with a GS is the guy wearing a Helmet Cam , filming his ride, erect in all its glory on top of the Flip top.
Anyone alive out there!!

I had an 1100s it is a great bike but a bit sluggish. I traded mine in on a s1000rr a fantastic sports bike however me and the mrs wanted to go touring so the s1000rr had to go, then came a k1300s probably one of the best all round bikes around however the service costs were very high and when I retired I sold it and bough a r1200s. I can do all the service work myself with a 10mm spanner and an allen key and the extra power and lighter weight put it streets ahead of the 1100.

I'm new to the Bremer bike world but which would you recommend between an r1100s and a r1200s?
I want to drive back from Germany and tour Scotland, you know? Do some mega runs!

I have done some mega runs on my 12S (3000 miles in 10 days) and the bike has been comfortable and trouble free. The issue with the 12S is luggage. I'm lucky enough to have the panniers and a tailpack for mine but they are expensive and second hand ones are like hens teeth. Never had an 11S but from reading on here they are fantastic for what you want.

Talking of hernias, I've got a fooker and looks like it'll be 2025 when i get to see a specialist, if I'm lucky, to tell me, yes Mr Taylor, you do have an inguinal hernia, we'll be in touch Thinking of going private

NHS sent me private for mine a couple of years ago. 8 weeks from doctor to surgery. (NHS surgeon working at a private hospital as most do)

richphela the r1100s is a better touring bike(especially two up) and has a more comfortable seat than the more sports orientated r1200s.

Dobbo - I would say it depends upon how tall you are - I've had both.
The 11S is more comfortable waist up and the 12S better waist down for me.
I'm 6.0ft tall and 13 stone, the 12S is considerably faster and feels lighter pushing it around, but I kept the 11S as I've had it from new and it pretty much does all I want and the hard cases are bigger for touring.
