I'm shocked !

Postby GerryB » Sat May 01, 2021 4:53 am

In January this year, I finally officially joined the OAP ranks !!

Some how, with what I've done in my life, I kinda never ever believed I'd reach this milestone !!!

Fortunately, despite contracting COPD, the weather here in Spain is kind to me, and my lungs are not a big issue.

I'm still pottering around, cleaning a few gardens, doing odd jobs for friends, cleaning a few expats pools,
so propping up the very meagre UK pension pot, with a few euros !

As mentioned in another post, my BMW sale never took place, so I thought to myself F##k it, its not meant to be sold.

So, I try to get in a few hundred kms on it every month, just to keep everything in good nick.

Some how this being a pensioner business, is more fun than I ever imagined !

With a great lady by my side, I hope it carries on for many years !

A bit more pensioner antics , on one of my other bikes !

I'm afraid this one brings out the hooligan, on the twisties in this part of Spain , i seem to be challenging the tyres.

I think the next set of tyres will have to be seriously "Sport" rated ....

Last weekend , I had a big slide ... got away with it but still, it was a sphincter clenching moment !

Is that the one in red or blue?
Sorry, but couldn't resist..
I think like the bikes a lot of us here are past their sell by dates on extended warranties
I used to think if I make it to 30, then 40 then 50.. next imminent.
Keep the shiny side up...

Looking good Gerry, the move to Spain seems to have worked out well for you. Just been for short blast on my 660 to try out some adjustable fork caps, surprisingly chilly in Devon.

Yes thanks Al, my COPD has not deteriorated at the speed I was in UK, since being here 2017 to now, I've barely changed on all the lung function tests.

So, apart from the gawjus weather, and relaxed life style here , I'm very happy.

Work part time, clean a few pools for expats, do 2 gardens, and the odd handy man paint jobs etc .

No stress, I should have moved here 30 years ago !
