I'm in smug mode

Postby R-man » Wed Jun 20, 2012 8:50 pm

Hey Trixers, I am so glad I bought a pair of these from Lennie for my 1100S!

Much improved torque low-end and mid-range
Better urge up to at least 6,000 revs (I never use more, and only on accelereration)
Much nicer bike to ride, with surging reduced and smoother throttle response
Better tank range (reckon despite much improved real road preformance, I'm still seeing 6% better)

I bought the 'seconds' and my BMW-trained mechanic marvelled at them saying he thought they were far better machined than originals.

Do it - best mod for your bucks, bar none.

-in the 70s & 80s there were lots more...

ER-man,

It is amazing I have this post on 3 boards and still low sales.

I am at a loss as to how to make people aware of the benefits and the savings in fuel alone will pay for them and even installation.

Enjoy the ride and the more you ride the better it will be as you relearn the torque curve.

Hi Lennie.
Have sent payment for a set of 'seconds' Rocket Sprockets via PayPal. Seems worth the investment even if they're only half as good as most guys say they are!!!!

Boxermed,

The first CNC batches had a step not included that was to ream the locating pin hol to allow for shrinkage for the case hardening.

I installed the pins and later realised they cracked between the locating pin hole and the cam mounting hole. I spoke to the original machinist, the current machinist, a metalurgist and a BMW mechanic I know about the crack.

I redrilled the holes to 3 mm for the bearing roller locating pin and the crack cannot propogate any further as there is not pressue on the hole and it is covered by a thick washer under the mounting bolt.

I would not sell them if there was an issue.

I have 10 sets of seconds left.

Rocket Sprockets Please

Postby Austen » Tue Jul 03, 2012 7:47 pm

Lennie hello,

Do you have two sets of sprocket "seconds" still available? - If so I'll take them.

Does one postage payment of $20 AUD get them both to the UK? So $300 AUD in total?

By the way, the critter above is a Meerkat - resident of South Africa.

Best regards,

Austen

Austen,

If you take two sets it is $300.00 Australian as it costs no extra for the second set.

Pay direct to Paypal as above.

I will post to you upon receipt of funds.

I now have only 6 sets of seconds left if you buy these.
