I'm just embarking on a photographic course (NVQ level 4) and on the recommendation of a professional photographer mate of mine (he's in charge of Photo/Graphics section at RAFC Cranwell) I began the search for a small, compact but very high quality camera - the sort to carry around for 'chance' photos. Better than lugging a load of DSLR gear around.
Anyway, ended up with one of these little beauties:
Fuji X100.
I'm not going to pretend that it'll replace my EOS 7D but it's right up there in terms of picture quality.

Back to the Fuji...
Did a couple of comparison pictures yestrerday, using my EOS 7D with Canon 24-105L against the Fuji X100.
Result?
Whilst the Canon is more versatile (as you'd expect a DSLR to be), the Fuji just takes better pictures.
