Today's short ride

Postby Dai wiskers » Fri Sep 06, 2013 12:13 pm

Well they don't come much shorter

According to the bin men that picked me and the bike up it was less than a yard
Now nursing a swollen left knee bruised instep to my left foot stiff left shoulder and elbow

And a very bruised ego

Damage to bike yet another scrape on the left rocker cover and a scraped left pannier

How did it happen i have no idea got on bike started bike lifted stand pulled in clutch put bike into gear released clutch fell over

Yes i had taken off the disc lock

Going to have another try later
My bike shines when it rains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bloody hell Dai.... eek!

I had similar on the ZX12R when a tyre fitter put 4.5bar into the rear wheel instead of 45psi! As soon as I open the throttle it just lost traction and spat my off.

Is there no sign of diesel etc on the road or tyre?

If it did, the video might throw some light on what happened!
Sorry to hear about the "mishap" - glad you (and the bike) aren't too badly damaged.

chucked mine over about 6 times in the first 2 weeks,
sandpaper and painted the left cover(a few times)
then turning tight in my back yard, i dabbed the brake, timber & over and broke mounting lock on side box. (robbed off top box for the meantime, so am looking one online somewhere over winter)

i'm getting used to it now

(note: i didn't say which i was getting used to ,, being able to ride it or falling off gracefully )

Dai, I've had a couple of instances when I've gone to feed the clutch in and it's cut out - happened about 3 times in 17 000 miles - no explanation and no reason - it's just done it - once was with my ex on the back and I just managed to hold it up. Wonder if that's what's happened with you. Made me very wary

it's always worse the next day when the adrenalins worn off and the old bones feel the ache :)

Hot bath mate .... and a rub down with a sponge from Anne ;)
