A wee run on the bike a couple of weeks ago...
My girlfriend and I had been planning to go camping in the Lakes for a long weekend just when the weather was particularly wet a couple of weeks ago.
That got knocked on the head and we decided to head out on the bike on the Friday. This being only the 3rd time I've been out on the bike this year - and one of them was taking it for an MOT
We headed North avoiding the T-In the Park traffic. Took the scenc route to Pitlochry via Aberfeldy for an ice cream.
It was 24 degrees and sunny in Pitlochry so we headed north to Braemar under darkening skies over Glenshee.
Wished we'd packed a bag as I couldn't be bothered riding the 130 miles home with nothing to do all weekend. After a cup of tea in Ballater I made a few calls and booked a hotel in Granton on Spey for the nite.
So, Over Tomintoul to the hotel, getting there about 8pm.
A couple of pints and a chippy! Braw.
The weather was to be horrendous back home the following day so we just headed north again...
Stopped in Inverness for some Keks and a toothbrush and raided Tesco "sale rail" for shorts, t-shift and flip flops. It was a bit damp at this point and stopped for a Coffee and got another hotel booked for that nite!
A few miles north of Inverness the weather improved and was still improving by the time we reached the west coast.
We decided to head to Applecross for Lunch so it was over the pass of the Cattle...
And a lovely spot for lunch
On the was back over the pass we had a great view over the sea to Skye
Stayed the night in Lochcarron and had a great meal here:
View from the restaurant
The following day it was time to go home, wet roads all the way unfortunately
stopped for a couple of pics
And then it was back to work. Haven't even washed the bike yet.
Cheers

It's the applecross pass, there's tons of fast roads up there, that's not one of them
