New from wettist wales

Hello All,
I'm new on this forum , but not to boxers
I have had literally "hundreds" of bikes in my 60yrs
and since 17yrs have never been without a bike.
my last Bmw was an 1150GSA
I now fancy a change to a 1100s
So over this winter am on the look out for a nice one

Welcome , hope you find what you are looking for, have a look in the days out section for details of the Welsh weekend Mr Parry has organised, you might be needed to boost R1100s numbers up from only 3 I think last year and I have moved on to a GS 1200 since then.

Yes, I'm still looking but most people put their bikes away at this time of year and sell when the daffodils put in an appearance.

I am taken with the RMRep on this forum but have all my monies invested in a classic car and current building project.

Plenty of time to find the right bike :wink:

My price /budget is £2000 to £ 3000 max or if anybody fancies my minter vfr.....who knows I may stretch a little
I have no need for luggage as this bike is just for nice sunny summer days

I shall be looking for an 1100s :wink:

I should have bought CT Tunneruk special, I just hesitated over a 51,000mile bike when mine was only a 15,000mile bike

I think there are a few on Ebay just now, but sometimes that can take a lot of due-diligance.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the 1100s - I still love the bike on the good roads, even though I have more powerful bikes

I'm dropping to just one bike as and when I find it I may have a Tunneruk paint job as this bike will be a keeper (probably my last bike )

Yeah, that was a lovely paint job. I wonder what it would look like on my 12?

He'd only have to do the white and the stripes as mine is black. Hmmm now there's an idea :idea:

Well I've been on bike trader/ebay for 1100s so far I can only find over priced ,high miles machines. Daily used 50,000miles plus corroded alloy machines generally tatty bikes in 2k to 2.5k. For 14 to 17yrs old BMW's

I'm not unduly worried by miles but poor condition machines are not for me.
Some owners are not realistic about values

Most traders want too much and unfortunately ( or fortunately )me are hundreds of miles away.

So for now the VFR will remain you can't fault the build quality of the 17yrs old Honda.

I'll keep looking

Hi there, I see you are in Wales, am going to sell mine as it has been unused since bying a new R1200RS in July.
I am in SE Wales if that is any good for you?
Bike is 1998 in Black and I have owned it for 10 years, on 51k miles but really well maintained and loads of extras fitted. Not immaculate, usual paint flaking on the fork bottoms and engine casing, but otherwise really tidy for the year,
if you are interested, drop me a PM and i will send you some pictures.
Will get around to posting it on this site very soon. Paul
