Still have the SV650s but the KTM has gone. Due to a change in work location I am soon to be doing a longer commute and its not the sort of distance that I would want to do on the KTM so, it has gone and a Triumph Tiger 955i has taken its place. Lovely bike. Not everybody's cup of tea but it is a very comfortable and capable distance bike at a keen price

It does indeed, and jolly useful tools they are too.

Must admit, I like the look (I think) of the new Tigger in the comic this week - especially if it's punting out 125ish bhp. Although MCN reckon the Multisplatter thing honks out 100bhp - yeah right, in its dreams.

The Tiger is a great bike I have had no regrets on swapping my S for a new Tiger and I have a daily comute of 35 miles each way.

I did initially look at getting either a 1150gs or 1200gs but then I managed to get a new but '05 model Tiger for £5.9k. I am racking up the miles having only collected it yesterday and have done 200 miles already - i need the first service done by 23rd Feb as I am off to Somerset for a week to see my parents. Initial thoughts so far are that it is comfortable, the motor is a peach and it is so stable. As has already been said I think this could be an unsung bike hero. I can understand why existing owners keep them for so long and do many miles on them.

I(we) have lost track of the number of 6/7 hundred mile days done on ours,includeing 1000 miler in 2003 in 16 hours and that included the a Dover Calais crossing!!!.

There are one or two good sites for info,it's the important things like chain tension you have to be carefull of, the books wrong!!! and always has been !!,set it for one up and it'll be like a banjo string two up.

Having done 945 miles in 3 days on the KTM on the last 'up north' trixters weekend I am sure any long distance will be a pleasure on the Tiger!!! I must admit going to work yesterday morning with the heated grips on was nice. The tank range is equally as impressive
