...swiss alpenchallenge bike
Time for an extra bike in the garage...
Just took it out for a test run, but the motor seems a little asthmatic and underpowered. The salesman assured me it would loosen up and develop more power with prolonged use...
Seriously though, I've had a couple of colleagues at work suffer serious health issues of late, and taking a long hard look at my personal fitness and health levels, I decided it's time to take action and get a lot fitter and lighter. I am enrolled in the Pru Health "Vitality" health insurance scheme at work, and they will subsidise the cost of the bike quite significantly, so why not?
I have an old Trek Mountain bike which has not seen much active use since my son's was stolen, so that can go on Gumtree. I just did my old fitness circuit up to Hampton Court Palace, and along the river to Kingston Bridge and back, and I did a similar time on the new BMC as I used to do on my Trek when I was a tad fitter, so the BMC is clearly a better road bike for me.
I am however determined not to be a MAMIL*, so will be using my baggy mountain bike trousers when out and about.
Cheers,
Paul

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Never understood why everyone pays for the lightest bike possible - when trying to get fit.............
Surely that's like weightlifters using boxes of polystyrene for weight-training?
I have a pushbike too - I just need to:
Get it fettled
Get on it
Get going.
Next year...........

See if that works .....

Steve,
It's a removable unit, which sits on the saddle.

Bit of a come-down after you decided you needed an R1200S in the garage and gave me grief for buying Andy's from under your nose!
Getting serious ready for next year's Flash tour are we?
Cheers John
Watch this space... Exciting developments will be revealed in the fullness of time
Have you splashed down your deposit for Flash 2016 yet?
Cheers,
Paul

Let's have less of that talking sense... That's not what we come to this web site for.

Is it firing on all cylinders?....................
On a serious-er note - I'm hoping to enjoy pushbiking from next year on - but not like Stoney - just to enjoy fresh air, scenery and exercise.
