yadda yadda .... yeah whatever the R8 bod says the bike spanked him and even at the Ducatis price is still hugely less than the R8 ... and won't be stuck in traffic jams .. and feeds the soul in a way a car just can't

+1 for that, and a good find. There are plenty of R8's in Aberdeen I will need to try that on the way home

It's like one of the car mags test of an M5 against an S1000RR .... they did it on a soaking wet track, so of course the car has a huge advantage ....

If you recall when top gear had the atom in a race with the S it was a lot closer and the atom is a supremely fast car

That's a fast bike!
Aren't they quicker to 100 than any other bike, including the S1000RR, Due to massive rear tire and the long wheelbase? I thought that was its party trick....
I sat on one at the launch at our local dealer, I was surprised how light it felt for the hulking looks of it. Must be a nice bike to ride, I'm jealous you have two! Enjoy!

Well to be honest there is not a lot to complain about ... only concern may be that the fuel range is 110 miles to light on and only 20 miles on reserve, so it's a little less generous on fuel range than the R1100S which isn't so generous itself compared to some.
We've both done about 400 miles, and grinned all the way.
Power is addictive, the handling, and response to small inputs is faultless. AND THE NOISE with the Termignoni end cans is brilliant - so many people have commented favourably it's been quite a surprise.
The bike we test drove in October did not have a screen, and Jenny said her neck was not strong enough to ride it above 60mph so we ordered the small perspex screen - it is brilliant, you don't see it and it leaves no wind blast even into a strong cross wind.
Best of all - Jenny has been riding hers by herself when I'm not with her, she has a lot more confidence on the Diavel than she had on her Diversion.
All in all so far very happy.

I was down in Newcastle visiting my parents when Jenny and I both had a test ride, organised by M and S Motorcycles. We did the deal with them in the end. A colleague here in Aberdeen recently took a test ride on a Multistrada with Ducati Glasgow and then got a better deal from M and S.
One of the owners of M and S has a daughter at Aberdeen University and is happy to pop up and down from Newcastle in the van.
