A ratchet strap around the expanded tank should bring it back to shape.

I imagine you have already done it though being as your clever enough to make your own big tank.

I've now done the same modification to the original tank off my bike. I wouldn't say it's a professional-looking job of welding but it is sound and pressure-tested to 8psi with no trace of a leak. I'll be putting it in the Bits & bobs section presently.

Save yourself hassle, just buy a compo Ducati tank they expand naturally.

I've got to ask fella, how do you get the fuel out? Do you have extended pick up pipes?

Actually that part is unaffected. The pickup is lower than the extended section.

I know it was a while ago, but just saw your post on the modification for the 11s tank. Are you still doing them and do you have any in stock? What sort of money would I be looking at for modified - for - exchange of original tank? My bike has a disabled ABS and the larger 19Ah battery....

After years of borrowing an AC/DC Tig at a mates house, I bit the bullet and bought my own for knocking up ally stuff. I wouldn't describe your welding as 'novice' at all. A bloody good effort, especially as you have no foot pedal control

The first one I got was one from Eastwood Restorations, and was fairly basic at about £500. More recently, I've bought a secondhand Miller unit from a boat fitters that was closing down. It seems you get what you pay for, as the arc on the Miller unit seems more consistent giving you more control over the pool.
