Posting images

So assuming your using a Windows PC and have an image on the desktop that you want to post

goto

https://tinypic.host/

and use the "Browse" to find and upload your image to their site (you may have to enter a "security" question

Once uploaded you'll be be presented with 4 option boxes in yellow with black text.

The one that has IMG encased in square brackets is the one you need, copy it so that it contains the open IMG and the close /IMG

(note spaces have been added at the IMG's so as to "disable" it so that you can see the code

this will, when posted create the image

Hope that helps

Alternatively, now with the new site software you can do the following when posting a new topic:

1) In the area below the text composition box, you should see the following tabbed area:

image1.jpg
your comment here...
image1.jpg (101.53 KiB) Viewed 17876 times

If you click on the add files button, you will get a dialog to upload images. Once you have done that, if your file was called image1.jpg, you would see this:

image2.jpg
image2.jpg (183.21 KiB) Viewed 17876 times

Put the cursor back in the text composition window, where you would like the image to appear and then press the "place inline" button to insert a reference to the image.

Simples. You can slightly speed up the process if you can see an image file in a folder on your local computer you just can drag and drop it on the text composition window to shortcut the first part of the process.

There is a limit on the size of the image files, but it's a fairly generous half a megabyte. If you are taking photos direct from your 20 megapixel camera, you will have to reduce the size first before uploading them.

Cheers,
