Black Betty's paint

Postby Gats » Fri Jul 02, 2004 8:27 am

During the course of the Chateau Flash Boxertrix inaugural ride, wine and food festival, a discussion came up about custom paint jobs with Gromit.
Finally got around to FTP'ing a few images to the new server of my Aussie S.

Note painted colour matched protectors/pods.

Paint mix was based on an Arai Giga helmet from years back. The current black pearl Arais are similar. I have seen a 330CCi in similar paint so it looks like a BMW (c*r) paint option.

Mate,

You installed the Roo Bar at the wrong end of the bike!

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Matey... the roo bar is on the right end! ... got rid of that German gearbox and put one of those trick Italian jobbies in... 6 reverse, one forward (I like to think I could get out of trouble faster than I get into it!) :D

Very nice mate.
I collect my freshly resprayed bodywork this weekend.
I didnt bother adding any pearls or glitters to the black(raven black)as there is a fair bit of candy red.
I was gonna attempt the respray myself, but a friend has helped me out both with the paint and respraying.I cant wait to see the results, pictures should follow on next week.

Ooh, that's nice. Always good to see an S in the correct colour.

Are those indicators in the rocker covers?

Thanks, Gus and Julian.
Gus, looking forward to seeing your paint, mate. I think the red in it will be striking. 8)
Julian, now there's a thought! Did you ever see the 1100R with Z4 indicators in place of the faring roundels? Some shop in NYC did it. Pity it won't work on the S as the faring support is nearly directly behind the roundel.
