It came with two inserts, the first was quite restrictive, sounded throaty, not much louder than stock, but seemed to take the edge off performance above 4K.

The second insert is louder but not raspy, ok as long as you are not caning it around the 'burbs, more urge than the first option, maybe just slightly more than stock, hard to say. I have left this one on, quite like it.

I have not tried it without an insert, I would expect it to be too antisocial.
