Pick the bike up next week, so will have a couple of weeks to get aquainted before a long weekend in Scotland with Steve Parry and Boxertrix mates in the middle of August.

And yes it is better close up than the pics.

Nice one John. Looking forward to seeing it although this does mean that you now have a cleaner bike than me

Enjoy

Eyore,

the plan is ...

[img]Untitled by AndyTGriff, on Flickr[/img]

plus order an R1200RS with all the gadgets. Stock is a bit short on the ground currently so this may take a little while. Some dealers quoting October  - which if true may result in waiting until early next year. The K11 is a great machine so I'm looking forward to using that a bit more.

Ah .... so you've decided to use the 12S not the 11S :)

Thanks Nik

Greg - yes parking my old 11S next to yours in France convinced me I need to polish more!!

But I guess your HP2 is even better than the BCR - thanks again for the ride. That's what convinced me I need lighter weight and more grunt so I can keep up with you lot more easily than flogging the old 11S.

Got a sneaky eye on a new S1000XR as well, when the new registrations arrive.

Dave - plan on keeping the old tractor as I've had it from new and I'm quite attached, but that may change depending upon how well I get on with the 12S

Maybe Steve - need to ride it a bit first to see how I get on over distances, compared to the 11S.

Plan on a Friday trip up to Bagster in Abergele for a 12S tank bag harness, you want to come along in a couple of weeks as you don't work Fridays now?

Could my HP2 be any cleaner than the my BCR? I think not :D

As for 'keeping up' I take it you were referring to the other lot

Look forward to seeing it in the flesh. Maybe at Hawes?

Greg - yes I am booked into Hawes for the ride out, but that's a long way off.

I may just take a spin over to Tamuff, if you're about, or you can come over here and we can persuade Steve P out for spin into Wales somewhere.
Just so you can exercise the HP2 you understand.

Oh yeh, keeping up, well anyone with more grunt really, hence my eye on the S1000XR - the test ride really was a hoot.

John,

just so you know - they are quoting 14 days lead time for this model - not exactly a volume seller probably - I have only ever seen 1 yellow R1200S in the flesh on the road as it were ... ( apart from mine before someone points out I was probably looking in a shop window :D )

Well-weathered leather
Hot metal and oil
The scented country air

You are always welcome...but give me some warning so I can clean the HP2. Not seen a sponge in a while as its covered in coats
