Glad you're enjoying th bike Glenn and glad it went to a good home. Your first suggestion is a bit of a worry, as that's the second time I've had that one today!

I guess the red stickers on the mirrors might do it, although Postit note reminders stuck around my computer screen quickly disappear ...

Given that this is specifically a Rockster question -

I know I only have about a 10% right to ask it here [about 10% f the Rockster being 1100S] but it does have "wider" implications.

Does anyone have any tricks to remind themselves they're carrying side cases? Looking around the marketplace on either second-hand cases or bikes with cases attached, it ...

I'd agree with that Sproggy, except that most of the 11S's for sale on MCN, Bike Trader and the official BM dealers site had similar miles or greater and were a lot more dosh [especially the main BM dealers].

Mind you, I'm not likely to put any more miles on it for a week or two, as I fell of a f ...

10 days ago I paid a BM dealer [SBW Hertford] £4495 for a 2003 grey/mandarin one. 18K miles, head protectors, touring panniers, belly-pan, 12 month "warranty", 12 month MOT and it hadn't turned a wheel since its 18K service [Oh, I forgot the two new tyres]. Dunno why it was so reasonable, as ...

As daft as it sounds, petrol is one of the biggest issues in France. You'll probably be aiming for the twisty back-roads and there's a distinct shortage of petrol stations on those. Even when they're there, they'll be tucked away in some village back street where you can't find them, so fill up ...

Hi Steve

I'm not entirely sure ['cause I'm not all that computer "literate"] but I think I've sent you a "PM" with my contact details. If you don't receive it come back on here and I'll repeat the 'phone details.

Steve

The ebay one above is the OEM version [although it's not really BMW, it's just marketed by them] and, as I said, it has some drawbacks [the one pictured is already rusty on the spring-loaded shaft and is quite pricey with 8 days to go].

The ABBA version looks identical to one I have in my ...

BMW Stand

Hopefully, someone on here will have experience of the OEM stand and others. I can only comment on the OEM version. It's very well built but has three major drawbacks [possibly]. I say possibly because I've not had it on my 11S yet but, on the Rockster [it's the same stand but with modified height ...

Thanks for the welcome gents

The pan on yours looks a lot better than on mine Gijs but then mine also has some iffy stickers on it. If I had any idea how to post a picture I'd show you.

And another one

Although new to the 1100S, I've had a Rockster for four years. The addition of the "S" was in pursuit of more comfort when touring.

The new bike is an '03 grey/mandarin with 18000 on, just bought at SBW Hertford. It came with a dodgy mandarin belly-pan [so that'll either have to go or get resprayed ...
