Yes, many thanks Steptoe. That's a brilliant step by step for the valves and end float and will help me no end when I come to do the service.
I also agree with Ianbcr that a forum of "How to's" would be handy as all the jobs most people have to attempt at one time or another would be in one place ...

Valve clearances/end float checks
Hi,
There used to be a "sticky" on this not long ago with step by step instructions and pictures but I can't find it now. Think it was by Winger but not sure.
Anyway, I'm about to service my bike and it would be very handy to refer to.
Can some one point me in the right direction. Tried the search ...

Aftermaket shocks
Thanks for the info guys.
What can I say? Phew thought it was a simple case of substituting one shock for a new one!
The bike is a 2002 model, Marakech red, black engine, "sports" pack which seems to have been a Vanderlinde exhaust and shocks with yellow springs.
The front is fine but the back is ...

Aftermaket shocks
Can anyone tell me if its necessary to change the front shock when replacing the rear with an aftermaket item.
The rear on my bike needs replacing, but will fitting for example a Hagon rear mean I also have to change the front or will it work with the standard front shock as it is in good condition ...

Ilmberger C/F hugger for R1100s
I saw one of these advertised on e-bay recently and bought it. Going by the previous topics they are rated as the best.
I haven,t had the chance to fit it yet but can anyone tell me if it's meant to have a notch out of the "arm". I presume it's to allow access to the rear brake bleed nipple, but I'm ...

Rear Shock Query
Thanks for the info Gijs, saved me making a costly mistake.
Looks like I'll have to get a few more miles out of my rear shock.
Hopefully a new one will be on the cards later in the year.
Presumably makes like WP etc would make a shock thats compatible or adjustable to suit.
Once again many thanks ...

Rear Shock Query
Can anyone give me advice about my rear shock please.
I bought my R1100s about a year ago (radically different from any bike I'd previously owned) and I really love it. It was advertised as having a sport package(?). The engine is black and it came with a Vandelinde exhaust.
