New Paint!
As promised, here is the Marrakech Red R1100SS with the white GT stripe, black wheels and reflective red wheel stripes. While I was at it I fitted an Ilmberger front fender and cleaned up my Ilm hugger.
Before this I fitted a Y-piece, chipped the bike with a Lazer Racing EPROM, fitted a K&N and ...

Re: red ! warning light on
You say that the brake light works fine and I assume the side light does too? As I recall, if the brake light bulb fails, the rear side light :? takes over both functions of side light and brake light so its not always apparent that the brake light bulb may have failed, apart from the red light on ...

Starter Motor Cover Aggro
A few weeks ago I had the misfortune of having to jump-start my bike. I removed the plastic cover from the starter motor to find a decent supply to attach jump-leads to.
It took me ages, and I shredded my hand.
What tools are best for this? The bend is too much for a flexi driver or a universal ...

Hi Adrian - I have used a Garmin i3 on my bike a few times. The first was an experiement with the suction mount on the rev counter face. It worked perfectly for about half an hour... then ejected itself onto the road in Parliament Square. Fortunately I was going slow, and the unit is pretty tough ...

R1100S: Front Wheel Qs
* I have had my front wheel painted with 2-pack. Should I get the disk mount faces faced - or is an even coating of paint OK?
* Or can I just get rid of the excess paint with a dremel?
* Is it essential to run a die down the threads of the disk mounts? - if I have to do it I'll get the same guys to ...

Far be it from my place to advise BMW on intake / exhaust tuning! I'm not saying they didn't know what they were doing... but you have to admit that the OEM suppliers are playing to different rules than you and I.
Just as Lennie developed his induct, there is nothing to stop people experimenting. I ...
