Do you still get the warmth of the heated grips through the grip puppies? The standard setup on my NineT is also very narrow.

Its about 216 miles from the Rotterdam Europoot to the Dorint Hotel via satnav. On the way back I went north towards Bonn on the B258, which was really picturesque. I checked out at 11, had a leisurely lunch and was still early for the ferry at beer o'clock. The Eurotunnel might be cheaper and more ...

Ha! The facial contortions are an effort to remember to breath! I stopped at the Dorint Hotel which is right on the circuit and about half a mile from the stating carpark for the tourist days. There were about twenty groups of five or six. The first day started at 7:30 but we were slightly delayed b...

Hi Steve,
Yes, two days training with Motorrad Action. Thirty one laps, fast instructors, nice food, and evening lectures at the Dorint hotel. Twenty six degrees or so, training groups of 5. Bliss.
It was going to be a bucket-list thing, but now I'm saving up for next year.

Guess where I went last week?

Sorry. If I don't show off, I think I'll burst. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x190/brunocrossley/0155-0812MU1-004_155_zps3qkfwari.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x190/brunocrossley/0155-0811MU1-005_155_zpsbk8z3xgy.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x190/brunocrossley/0155-0811MU1-011...

Yes, indeed. The rims aren't tubeless. I'd assumed that they'd be similar to a GS. There are aftermarket spoked conversions that run tubeless but they aren't cheap. Apparently R1200R wheels fit, so I thought I'd try some as a second set with different tyres. I'm hoping the cast tubeless ones will be...

Anyone tried Metzeler Sportec M7 RR

Sorry, another tyre thread.... I've just picked up a pair of 1200R wheels to fit my R NineT before I go to the 'Ring for training next month. That's one off my bucket list. So which tyres? I'm not particularly struck by the Z8's on it as standard, but I'm not really up to speed with more sporty tyre...

Niiice.

What welding kit do you use, and is the aluminium a particular grade?

Nurburgring Insurance

SP250's post about insurance has prompted me to post.

I'm off for Motorrad training at the 'Ring in August. I understand that cover is tricky to find. Does anybody have recommendations? Does it become a track day if the circuit isn't open to the public?

Ah hhem! I resemble that remark! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x190/brunocrossley/FirstPic_zpsb95768d8.jpg I am fifty-something. I am currently sporting a beard, a chequered shirt and a NineT. But then again, when I was 17 I had a bigger beard, a chequered shirt and an R100 :D It favours my nec...

I might be wrong, but I thought that there was a load relief relay that drops out and interupts supply to loads like the headlamp and heated grips when the starter button is pressed.

Here's the new part I bought from Motorworks. ELA06361 @ £76.06. I bought a spare grub screw as well, just in case, ELA62821 @ 0.43. I managed without needing the grub screw. If I hadn't bought one, I'd probably have needed it though! Bit of a fiddly job but not complicated. Find a well-fitting scre...

I rang Alan Jeffries after a s/h R1200R a month ago, and put the phone down having placed a deposit on a new Nine. Picked it up a fortnight ago. I quite like it! Heated grips are a dealer fit option. I went for them and a seat hump. It actually fits instead of the pillion, not over the seat like an ...
