Technically, near side in front of the rider's position and between two heights that I can't be ar5ed to remember.

I used to have mine hanging off the rear peg bracket IIRC.

We've had our Mk1 Fabia for about 5 years and it has been pretty reliable. Just had to sort out a problem with the power steering, which I hope I have fixed now with a replacement pump. Otherwise it has been great. I like driving it - got a few gadgets but generally simple fare. Pretty good handling...

Yep indeedy. If the bottom of the 12S engine is anything like flat that should work well. Obviously get the bellypan out of the way first if you happen to have one fitted. Replacing the gearbox output shaft oil seal is undoubtedly the easiest of the two - given the tools and torque requirements of the bevel box. And it's quite cheap to do as well. Allow a couple of hours.
