Re: Lubing driveshaft splines HP2 Sport
Yes there was a snap ring on the gearbox end. I know the actual shaft for the 12S is specific and cannot be interchanged with any other as when I snapped mine, it cost £545 from BMW as they cannot be found second hand and are different from the GS or 11S according to them. Hey Humbug. It looks like...

Re: Lubing driveshaft splines HP2 Sport
I have done a couple of gs1200 shaft lubes, and the HP2 can’t be that different. They pop off the snap rings easily the trick to reassemble is to cut a 3 foot (1 meter) length of dexion / angle iron and slide the shaft up into position, this keeps the joints in line simples! Good luck Phil Thanks P...

Re: Lubing driveshaft splines HP2 Sport
I know you can on the 1200s having done it myself. Its not the easiest as it seems to only come out and go back in to the swingarm housing on the third Friday of a blood moon when the villagers are dancing around the willow by the stream. Took me an hour to get it back in, everything needs to line ...

Lubing driveshaft splines HP2 Sport
Greeetings from the antipodes I want to lube the the splines on the HP2 Sport driveshaft but the Reprom dvd talks about removing the swingarm. When i did my k12R i only needed to tilt the final drive down and remove the driveshaft from the rear. I see that the HP2 driveshaft has a snap ring on each ...

Re: Ceramic coating.
I had the exhaust on my HP2 Sport done. The standard brown stainless finish is not in keeping with the rest of the bike. I couldn’t get the whole of the inside done because of the flapper valve. The finish is excellent. The header pipes go slightly milky from the heat but not so noticeable. I recomm...

Re: Lithium Battery - Long Term Experience Anyone?
I have just replaced the yuasa ytx12 with an antigravity small case lithium battery. The size difference is obvious as is the weight - 4.18 kg for the yuasa. 1 kg for the antigravity. The power is the big thing. 230CCA for the yuasa - 360CCA for the antigravity. It turns my hp2 sport over very ener...

Also be aware that if you purchase a lithium specific charger and you wish to charge through the accessory plug you will need to make sure that the charger is canbus suitable otherwise it wont charge.

Re: Lithium Battery - Long Term Experience Anyone?
I have had a lithium battery in my k12R for 7 years and it has just failed. I am replacing it with a new one. Be aware that at there are lot of manufacturers jumping on the bandwagon and making LiFePO4 batteries but are using cheap cells with overrated claims as to their performance. I am putting on...
