Cool cheers chaps.

I have found one sized at 30-42-8 which is 1mm thicker than that fitted. The stock item is 30-42-7

At £1.40 I couldn't resist and will give it a try.

Again thanks for the advice.

Radial Shaft Oil Seal

Does anybody know of an alternative to the radial shaft oil seal. The one that sits in the front cover behind the hall effect pickups.

It looks like a bog standard oil seal but as luck would have it the BMW dealer here in Cyprus doesn't have one in stock.

Regards

Delpel=1 - ABS/Servo=0 Continued

The options for the front end were braided lines or a u-link from BMW. This piece is specified for non-ABS fitted bikes. It came down to costs at the end of the day. The u-link replaces the distribution block that runs to the ABS control unit and joins the lines directly to the calipers. Simply a ca...

Delpel=1 - ABS/Servo=0

Finally finished ripping out the ABS/Servo system on my 2003 R1150GS rebuild project. The story so far. Back in June, I brought a crashed 2003 R1150GS, Blue/White with 10,000KM on the clock for approx £360 GBP. Spent just over £800 GBP on spares etc and rebuilt her. Unfortuently the ABS control was ...

Yep,

Try using a pair of tweezers to hold it in place and then a long screwdriver to push it in. Try not to push it in to far otherwise you'll be extremely peeved off if it plops inside you engine.

Help - Servos/ABS will not reset.

Just suffered the first major set back with my 2003 R1150GS rebuild. The bike is equipped with ABS and servo assisted brakes. The brakes have not been operated for nearly 2 years after after it was involved in a head-on crash. When you switch the ignition on (with a brand new Hawker Odessy battery, ...

There have been lots of examples of this happening. Brake failing leaving you with residual brakes only. Check out the GS and ADV sites. :shock: On the GS I am rebuilding I am having issues with the Servo/ABS system The answer is to rip all that crap out, fit straight through braided lines to each c...

Back end oil leak

Noticed some oil around the large rubber gaitor before the final drive unit. Upon further investigation I also noticed a small leak from the rubber gaitor at the gearbox. This leak leads me to believe the leak is at the gearbox end and running down the inside of the swinging arm. We are not talking ...

Paul the GS is coming along great. Nearly finished, just waiting on a pair of front discs and half a cock eyed headlight unit. Having some ABS issues though. Might end up ripping the whole lot out and running braided lines straight from the master cylinders to the calipers. Anybody done this on an 1...

It couldn't be the anti rattle spring in the wrong place. I removed the pads, pins and spring when I cleaned mine up and got confused as to the springs location. When you look at the inside of the caliper it looks like the spring should sit in the middle of the pads. Not so as I found out when every...

PB,

I did the same as Yogi Bear. Remember a small amount of hot oil goes a long way.

Mines a 2002 BCR with 9000 miles. :oops: :oops: :oops:

Yeah Yeah Yeah, I know but Cyprus is a small island.

Paul,

What did you think of the Brake - Brake discs?

£70 seems awfully cheap. You know what they say, if it seems to cheap it probably is.
