It’s all good advice thanks to all who have commented I just want to avoid BMW dealer costs and am seeking a recommended independent who can help now I need a mechanic in the south now to have a look

Wow just an hour but it will be the whole shaft as you say was looking to do a few more things when i start so I think a little more time will be required

Shaft problem
Whilst enjoying a spirited ride I have broken the bike it starts runs but has no drive. It moves forwards and backwards when in gear so I suspect the shaft or uj is broken.
I am not competent enough to fix and looking for a mechanic in the south near Newbury Berks...Any advice?

Very nice! Who did you get to do the paint for you? I'm still toying with the idea of painting my R1200RS, but the company I used to know, Altamura in Hampshire , seems to have stopped trading. So i am having the bike painted and the minor spattering jobs are OK. I can follow a workshop manual but i want a little help to replace swinging arm bearings and installing a suter slipper clutch.
