i took out the pads ad gave them a flat surface on a small belt grinder.
after the testride, everything ok, so it was confirmed (at least in my case) that the pads are at fault.
i draw some lines on the pads before the beltgrinder (stange but the pads seems to suck the permanent marker so the ...

as advised by one of our mechanics, i'll try and make a flat surface on the pads with some sandpaper.
i'll report back if it helps any bit.
our suspicion is that the metal inside the pads, combined with not so great compound is at fault.

just bought a 2002, red 1100s.
abs, heated grips, the toolkit intact, all 3 keys, rubbish tires, overall ok....is.

front brake discs look ok, but the bike came with sintered pads.
my colegues told me that they could be the problem.
the metal inside the compound is moving along in time and the pad is no longer touching the disc completly.
