Re: R1100s - No start, no lights, and no indicators!
For what its worth, once or twice , when I had mine, despite the neutral light on, had to kick it into gear , then back in neutral, to get it to work.
Maybe a slightly sticky neutral light, or bad connection to a relay.
Never investigated it further to be honest, just accepted it as a quirck .

Re: BMW R1100S in Spain
I'm sad to say the old girl is sold. But the man who bought it is a collector of Scooters, so for him, this is a new adventure ! He has a Honda , so not a first bike. He is local to me, so hopefully I'll see the old bike often. Funny , I gave it a good wash yesterday , man it looks better than befor...

Re: Buying from Germany Rant
This is the same here in Spain , every parcel , regardless from UK , we have to pay import duty on. My daughter sent me a few things from UK for my birthday, total value about £15, but had to pay E37 on collection !! Also, when buying on Ebay, so many sellers are UK based ...... I'm not prepa...

Good luck !
Trust me folks, anyone buys a bike from Jez will NOT be disappointed !!
I bought one from him in 2015, and its still going really well, more than double the mileage.
His attention to detail on service and maintenance is way better than most bike shop mechanics !!

Re: Advice on selling
Unfortunately its time for the 1200S Humbug to be sold due to the imminent arrival of a replacement and I thought i would ask opinions on what the esteemed members think might be the best way forward. All suggestions are welcomed as its been a while (12 years) since i bought or sold a bike. Thinkin...

Re: Advice on selling
RC8, amazing bike, but in my experience, one on which you need to ride fast everywhere to make it work - I figured I would lose my licence or worse hence why I got rid. Doesn't stop me hankering after another one though! That is why I love my DRZ Supermotard .... Better chance of keeping the licenc...

Re: Strange vibration on my R1100S
Great work Gerry :D. I did balance the TBs with a carbtune but that was a long time ago! It was something I never touched , but as I said, slowly over time you become aware of a vibration ! Just goes to show just how resilient these bikes are, so many years , over 60 thousand miles . Mind you, I've...

Re: Strange vibration on my R1100S
Oh no...I hope you find the problem Gerry Well, I decided to set the throttles up manually as I can't get to Justin till tuesday Did all the usual , idle screws , then remove the intake tubes. Put a thin bicycle spoke under each slide, then slowly opened throttle until one moved. Adjusted cables un...
