R1100s spares
While getting ready for that delightful downsize move, I have found these parts. A good bare swing arm. Clearly a low mileage used item. Number plate holder. Scuffed re painted right side cylinder head cover. OE cam chain tensioner. An alternator. BMW. E 97 86.K With mount bolts. I remember buying f...

R1100S (Any twin) electronic Harmonizer
I purchased this after the rave reviews from a small manufacturer in USA. It is the easiest twin cylinder injector balancer I have tried. It will dial in to the finest detail. It operates on a PP9 battery following the advised instructions. I paid back then about £150 + customs. It is still availabl...

Re: R1100S trade in for?
Thanks for the thoughts guys. It is a case of selling the existing bike first I think; all the spares that would go with it - another half a bike. Then, a decision, after more tests, of which bike, any tourer will be considered. The Daytonas got sold a few years back. Now then, what am I bid for a 1...

R1100S trade in for?
I have had to become tough with myself, the arthritis has become too serious to safely handle the R1100S , so, ideally, I would like to swap it for a lighter tourer. Literally, swap, as funds are limited. I have been unable to ride it for 18 months and I know things are not going to get better. It w...

Re: R1100S throttle response
I grew up with old British bikes and developed a love for the low down grunt that they give. I tried the Jap bikes; 2 stroke twins and threes; then the big 4 fours. Blistering acceleration to be had, constant gearbox work. But my heart was with the torque offered by the Norton big twins. Newer Trium...

Re: R1100S collector box
I would need to find a box first (been keeping a look out, vaguely, for months!); to post would be under £20, but it would require assessing at the post office.

Re: Classic old bikes
I left my job as workshop manager at Hexagon in London in 1978. I had the luxury of working on the upper end production bikes of the day. The full on Laverda Jota 3CE (wire wheels) was my favourite. An absolute animal, thirsty, violently beautifully loud, not the best handling, did I mention loud? S...
